Men and women live in a giant underground silo with different rules that they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world above. Whether they are exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book “Wool” – the book has 82 chapters. The fans on the floor in several episodes spin the wrong way, compared to the orientation of the blades. Spinning this way does not push or pull air. Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Need to Watch (2023). It’s an interesting take on the underground bunker story, about a people who survived underground for so long that a civilization arose within, with traditions, myths, beliefs, rituals and ceremonies that are rooted in events that have been forgotten and a status quo social structure is established. And when the order-preserving status quo is challenged, enforcement and punishment follow. A power structure is formed, creating a stratified population, both figuratively and literally, from the top of the silo to the bottom. That’s the premise, and while not entirely original (think Snowpiercer, Dark City, etc.), there’s enough novelty here and it seems well-executed for a TV series. Good acting from Oyelowo, with familiar faces in Rashida Jones and Will Patton. (But as you can tell from the show poster, they’re guest stars who will be making way for the regular cast, with Rebecca Ferguson as the lead.) The show seems to be decent enough, with good production values. There are elaborate sets and good CGI to provide a believable atmosphere. While a suspicious mind might spot some obvious conspiracies early on, there are mysteries that are uncovered that will keep me glued to the screen.
