Scenario
Adaptation of James Patterson’s series of novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Sequel to the 2001 film Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the titular character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap a previously planned sequel to Double Cross.
With Luther you get that
However, I think it’s the poor cousin of Luther in the UK with Idris Elba. Both he and Cross are considered to have extraordinary psychoanalytic abilities.
You don’t get that with Cross
In 8 episodes he has the whole “Spideysense” thing and gives an analysis that others can’t see. Then there’s the sloppy acting from some of the bigger actors.
The end result is Isiah Mustafa
Their scenes don’t do justice to the great acting of the main characters. In this show, he’s the spitting image of Irish rugby coach Andy Farrell.
Fun show, but I think Luther does it better
One is black and the other white, but boy, the similarities are uncanny!
